11.28 Harmony release notes

11.28 Harmony release

This page includes release notes for all generally available components being released as part of 11.28. Compilations of release notes for Production Cloud Agent Groups, Sandbox Cloud Agent Groups, and private agents are also available.

The 11.28 release is staggered based on the dates and times as listed below by component and region. For a more detailed explanation of the release cadence by component category, see the release schedule.

You can subscribe to maintenance notifications for web-based components at Jitterbit Trust. Locally installed components are available from the downloads page (except for the Docker private agent, which is available at Docker Hub). The end-of-life date for these components is one year after the release date.

Note

As of June 23, 2024 private agent versions 10.72 and 11.10 have reached end of life and are no longer supported.

We recommend that all users of any of these versions upgrade to the latest version as soon as practicable.

New features

Cloud Studio SDK connectors

  • JWT (beta) connector
The JWT (beta) connector can be used to generate, decode, or validate JSON Web Tokens (JWT). This connector is supported on both cloud and private agents 10.1 or later. For beta access, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Changes

Management Console

  • Required configuration changes for Harmony SSO-enabled organizations
The URLs required to configure Harmony single sign-on (SSO) have changed and must be used for new SSO configurations.

In organizations that are already using SSO, current configurations will continue to work and there will be no disruption to the ability for users to log in.

However, the next time you make changes to your SSO configuration, you must reconfigure SSO with the new URLs. Existing SAML 2.0 configurations will show the required Identity Provider Metadata and Service Provider Metadata fields as empty. Existing OAuth 2.0 configurations will show the required Client ID and Client Secret fields as empty. These fields must be repopulated with a successfully tested configuration prior to saving.

Refer to instructions for setting up your identity provider using the new redirect URLs. Note that Jitterbit intends to deprecate the former URLs in the future and we recommend reconfiguring SSO using the new URLs as soon as possible to prevent any future disruptions.

Enhancements

Agent, Cloud Studio, and Design Studio

  • New function for better JSON document handling
The new GetJSONString function can be used with agents 11.28 or later to retrieve data from a JSON object using the provided path. The new function is listed in the JSON category of the Functions tab in the Cloud Studio script component palette and can also be used with Design Studio 11.28 or later.

Cloud Studio

Cloud Studio SDK connectors

  • Jira connector setting for error handling
Jira activities have a new Fail the operation on error checkbox in their Optional settings that can be used to force an operation to report an error if the response from the Jira API returns a non-successful status code.

  • Workday and Zendesk connector placeholder values
The connection and activity configuration screens for the Workday and Zendesk connectors now have placeholder values shown in each field.

Management Console

  • Runtime Operations page access to Cloud Studio operations
Cloud Studio operations listed in the Runtime Operations page include a new Go to operation action that opens the project in Cloud Studio with the operation selected.

  • Projects page filter for Endpoint Authorization
A new Endpoint Authorization filter on the Projects page allows you to filter projects based on the authorization status of their endpoints, such as 3LO-configured endpoints that are expired or about to expire.

  • User Management and Organizations page redesigns
The User Management and Organizations pages have updated designs to improve usability. Of note:

    • Managing Harmony users and roles is now done through the User Management page. This functionality has been moved from the Organizations page.
    • Setting organization policies for agent, API, connection, and user management has an improved user experience on the Organizations page.
  • Message Queue limit increase
Subscribers of Jitterbit’s message queue service can now configure a Message Limit of up to 50,000 messages for new queues on the Message queues page.

Fixes

Agent

  • New Jitterbit variable to fix PostgreSQL sequences
The new Jitterbit variable jitterbit.target.db.use_new_postgress_sequence can be used with agents 11.28 or later to correct an issue processing a sequence when writing to a PostgreSQL database via JDBC.

API Manager

  • API Consumer permission landing page and menu links fixed
Users of only a single Harmony organization who are assigned a role with only the API Consumer permission can no longer access the Harmony portal Home page. If they are also assigned other roles in other organizations, then they can access the Home page menu link in the organization where they have only the API Consumer permission.

Cloud Studio

  • Global connection save error no longer occurs
After deleting one of the environments to which a global connection has been added, and then editing that global connection, saving the global connection no longer displays the error unable to resolve environment despite the save being successful.

Design Studio

  • Project is no longer modified when first downloaded
The first time a project is downloaded, its last-modified date is no longer changed. Previously, the last-modified date was being updated due to the creation of an ID on first download.

Harmony portal

  • Error fixed when resending registration code
When attempting to register a new Harmony user who has already registered and using the link to resend the registration code, an email indicating the email address is already in use is sent and a more meaningful error message returned.

Management Console

  • Agents page now reports Windows Server 2022 correctly
Private agents installed on Windows Server 2022 no longer have their OS incorrectly reported as Windows Server 2019 on the Agents page.

Notices

Agent

  • Private agent versions 10.x are no longer updated
Private agent version 10.87 was the last 10.x agent version distributed by Jitterbit and is intended to be the final supported 10.x agent version.

Since Harmony release 10.63 / 11.1, both a 10.x and 11.x private agent version had been distributed with these differences:

    • 11.x versions: In 11.1 and later versions, the PostgreSQL database bundled with the private agent is now version 14.5-1.

    • 10.x versions: Supported 10.x versions are packaged with the existing 9.6.24-1 PostgreSQL. The distributed 10.x versions will continue to be supported in accordance with Jitterbit’s end-of-life policy.

    Important

To continue to receive private agent updates, including new features, enhancements, security patches, and fixes, upgrading to an 11.x private agent is required.

Follow the instructions to upgrade from 10.x to 11.x agents:

NetSuite connector, Cloud Studio, and Design Studio

  • HMAC-SHA1 deprecation and removal from the Cloud Studio and Design Studio UI
NetSuite is deprecating HMAC-SHA1 as a valid signature algorithm as previously announced (see NetSuite HMAC-SHA1 deprecation). To support these changes, Jitterbit intends to remove the HMAC-SHA1 signature algorithm from the Cloud Studio and Design Studio UI in an upcoming Harmony release.

    Warning

As the HMAC-SHA1 signature algorithm will no longer be supported by NetSuite or the Jitterbit Harmony NetSuite connectors, you should change any Jitterbit Harmony projects that are presently using HMAC-SHA1 as the signature algorithm to use HMAC-SHA256 as soon as possible to avoid issues with those integrations.
