HTML (control type) in Jitterbit App Builder

An HTML control displays HTML content from a bound column in a panel, typed directly into a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor that supports standard rich text formatting, inline images and video, and superscript and subscript. Use the clear-formatting icon at the right end of its toolbar to remove formatting from selected text.

A separate feature, HTML templates, generates HTML dynamically from column values and displays it on a Custom HTML panel rather than an HTML control; see Create and use HTML templates to create and bind one.

Add an HTML control

To add a new HTML control to a panel, use the Add a Control dialog, select the Column that will store the HTML, and select HTML as the Control Type.

Convert an existing control to an HTML control

To change an existing control to use the HTML control type:

1. Navigate to the control, using either the Live Designer or the App Workbench:

   • From the app preview, open the page containing the control and select Action Drawer > Live Designer.

   • From the App Workbench, open the Pages tab, then in the Pages panel, locate the page containing the control and either double-click its row or click the Open record icon. In the Page Panel Layout panel, find the panel that houses the control and click Controls.

2. If you're in the Live Designer, click the control in the page view; this will populate the Live Designer with edit options for that control. If you're in the App Workbench, in the Controls panel, find the control and either double-click its row or click the Open record icon at the end of its row; App Builder opens a dialog similar to the Live Designer's.

3. In the Control Properties tab, set the Control Type field to HTML.

4. Click Save.

Refresh the application view to confirm the update. The control now shows a WYSIWYG editor for the column's HTML content.
